Humantay Lake is located along the Salkantay route, between the impressive Humantay and Salkantay mountains in the Cusco region of Peru.

From Soraypampa, it takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to hike up to Humantay Lake. The trail climbs gradually through a spectacular mountain landscape until reaching the lake at approximately 4,100 meters above sea level.
Humantay Lake is below the Humantay peaks, where melting mountain water collects to form this stunning natural lake.
The beautiful color of the lake is influenced by the minerals present in the water and its surrounding environment.
